Have you played our new game?
We have been learning what verbs, adverbs, adjectives and nouns are.
Remember:
Verbs are DOING words. Eg. walking.
Adverbs tell us HOW something is done (they often end in -ly). Eg. slowly.
Nouns are things, people or places. Eg. table.
Adjectives are DESCRIBING words. Eg. beautiful.
Can you suggest a verb, adverb, noun or adjective to add to a tree in our grammar forest?
You must tell me which type of word it is! For example; noun = book.

A New Game for Half Term!
This is a great game all about verbs and adverbs. We have been discussing verbs and adverbs when we play 'Teach Your Monster to Read'.
Remember a verb is a DOING word. An adverb tells us HOW something was done (they often end in -ly).
I have just played this game and it made me laugh a lot! It's a very funny (and fun!) game- enjoy!

Drapo Flags
This half term, as part of our Haiti topic, we have been learning about the Haitian art of Drapo flags. We enjoyed looking at these beautiful sequinned flags and finding shapes and designs that we liked. We looked particularly at flags made by an artist called Georges Valris.
We then worked in groups to design our own Drapo flags. The designs were drawn carefully onto our flag material.
This week, we painted our flags as a group.
Yesterday, we used needles and thread to sew on sequins to embellish our flags. We loved the sequins on the real Drapo flags and wanted to make ours look sparkly and special too.
Next week, we will add our finishing touches ahead of the Celebration Procession with the whole school on Thursday.
